The absence of facial hair and unformed features reveal the subject as a boy just entering puberty. It depicts the boy with naturalistic eyes, not yet formalised into a hieratic convention.


Fitment carved as a horse's head

This curved piece is carved in high relief with the head of a horse, its neck outstretched. The back of the piece is plain and flat. The horse is depicted wearing a headstall with a cheek-strap decorated with roundels.


Lower body of a female figure

Only the lower half of this figure remains. The body has been simplistically modelled and is rounded in shape. A large groove separates the legs and there is a suggestion of feet. A faint groove encircles the stomach although the rest of the body is undefined.


Violin-shaped figure

This figure consists in a schematic representation of hips, stomach, shoulders and an elongated neck. It has no head, arms or legs, and the point where they would be is squared off.

This female figure stands with arms bent at the elbows and wrapped around the stomach. Incised lines delineate the arms, waist and pelvic triangle. An incised line also defines the neckline, ending in a v-shape at the back. Breats are suggested by a slight raising of the material.


Legs of a large figure

Only the feet and lower part of the legs of this figure remain. The feet are raised onto the toes. Incised lines delineate the toes and a groove separates the legs. Made of marble the figure is stone coloured with a subtle brown/white mottled effect. The texture is rough.

This female figure stands on raised feet with arms embracing the stomach. The figure has broad shoulders, an elongated neck and large head. Incised lines define the arms, pubic triangle, neckline, knees and spine. A groove separates the legs.


Goblet with lugs

This goblet is formed of a stem upon which sits a circular bowl. Four semicircular ridges (lugs) have been formed on one side running the length of the bowl. Each ridge has been pierced with a hole towards the top which runs horizontally from side to side.


Vessel in the form of a fish

In the shape of a fish this vessel is ceramic with black and red pigment. The central void represents the eye of the fish while the spout is rendered as a fish's mouth. The vessel is circular with a flat base. On the underside of the fish there is a fin with incised linear detail in red.

This large jar sits upon a conical base and is plain with no decoration. The jar is circular in shape and has a wide curvaceous middle. Four ridges protrude from the middle, placed at an equal distance from one another. The centre of each ridge has been pierced with a hole.


Olmec mask

This mask has been formed to fit the contours of the face. Two holes have been cut for the eyes which are set back. Above the eyes a line has been incised to represent the eyelids and the brow has been raised slightly. Two holes have been made to represent the nostrils.


Celt

The blue-grey stone of this celt has a glass-like finish over a mottle, veined grain. It is rectangular, narrowing towards the base which is more pointed. A side view shows that it is slightly convex.


Jade face plaque

This face is square across the top with squared, elongated ears, the base of the left being lost. The turned down mouth is more deeply drilled at the corners, while the eyes are relatively shallow, with gulleys incised in a semi-circle around the inside of each.


Yugo

This yugo has been formed into an open ended oval shape. The face of a toad/frog has been carved into the outside of the curve, its body and legs carved into the sides. Both the ends and inside of the yugo have been left plain.

Sandy coloured, with a grainy surface this profile appears rather noble. The nose is quite large, as are the lips, which are open to reveal a block representing the teeth. A scroll pattern extends from the lower cheek up through the crest.

This mat brown ceramic figure has a hole at the top of the back of the head to be used as a whistle. On the top of the head is a trapezoidal headdress which extends down the neck at the back. The face is broad and has two oval eyes surrounded by a ridge to represent eyelids.
